Hobie Passport 10.5 R Overview
The Hobie Mirage Passport 10.5 R is a compact, pedal-powered kayak designed to give you premium performance without the premium price tag. Perfect for recreational paddling, fishing, or exploring your local waterways, this 10’6″ (3.2 m) kayak delivers impressive stability, manoeuvrability, and comfort in a lightweight, rotomoulded polyethylene hull.
At the heart of the Passport 10.5 R is the MirageDrive GT with Kick-Up Fins—Hobie’s signature pedal drive system that allows hands-free propulsion and auto-retracting fins that bounce up when they strike underwater obstacles. Whether you’re cruising over sandbars or weaving through weed beds, this drive keeps you moving efficiently and safely.
The breathable, elevated mesh seat provides superb back support for all-day paddling, while the spacious deck layout includes a Twist-n-Seal 8″ hatch, front and rear cargo areas with bungees, and dual accessory tracks. Rod holders come standard for fishing trips, and the twist-and-stow rudder ensures easy steering.
Weighing just 29.5 kg (hull only) and 34 kg fully rigged, the Passport 10.5 R is easy to load onto a car roof or trailer. It supports a maximum capacity of 147.4 kg, giving you plenty of room for yourself and your gear.
This kayak is perfect for those who want the legendary Hobie experience in a smaller, more affordable, and transport-friendly package—ideal for Australian rivers, bays, estuaries, and inland lakes.
